Paid lead generation for roofing: from the ad to a booked roof-replacement estimate

What this is

We run the ads that find homeowners who need a roof replaced, send them to a page built for one thing, and make sure every new lead gets contacted in under 60 seconds, in English or Spanish. What lands on your calendar is a qualified roof-replacement estimate. You run the estimate and close the job.

Right now we do this for residential roofers in Houston. See the Houston roofing pilot.

Where the ads run

In your ad account, on your card. Pay-per-lead ads on Google where you're eligible, Google Search where it makes sense. The channel mix comes out of your profile, your reviews and the zip codes you want, not out of a package. You see every dollar of spend. How Facebook ads compare with Google for roofers.

Campaigns are built around replacement work, not "roofing near me": the neighborhoods you want more of, a landing page with your own reviews on it, and a form that asks the questions your estimator needs answered.

What roofing owners tell us

  • After a storm, out-of-town crews arrive with it. You've roofed this area for years and you're losing streets to a rented truck and a door knocker who'll be gone by Christmas. They get there Monday. You get there Thursday. Thursday doesn't sign.

  • Canvassing is the most expensive appointment you buy. Pay a crew to knock all day, come back with a few maybes and one homeowner who turns out to be renting. Calculate your real cost per signed job. Most shops never have. How canvassing compares with ads.

  • "Just checking prices" eats your estimators' week. Some of the roofs you climb belong to someone gathering quotes for an adjuster, a tenant, or a roof with years left in it. Every one is a morning and a truck roll you paid for.

  • Then storm season ends and the pipeline is empty. You built a crew for the busy months and now you're carrying them on retail work you never systematically chased.

What counts as a qualified roof-replacement estimate

Agreed in writing before we start: the homeowner books and every decision-maker will be there, the property is residential and inside your zip codes, the job is a replacement (not a repair, unless you want those too), and they plan to do the work, by insurance claim or retail, inside the window you set. Anything that doesn't match that definition doesn't get booked onto your calendar, and doesn't count in the weekly report. It's the whole difference between this and a marketplace lead sold to four contractors at once.

What you see every week

One page you can read in a minute: ad spend, leads, response time, estimates booked, estimates held, no-show rate, and what we're changing next week and why. The number we optimize is cost per held roof-replacement estimate, not cost per lead, and not clicks.

How we start

We don't promise a number of estimates or jobs. Anyone who does is either pricing that risk into the fee or planning to book you anything with a pulse. In Houston it starts as a 60-day pilot on a flat monthly fee, with the ad spend in your account, then runs month to month.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have results from other roofing companies?

No roofing case yet, in the US or anywhere else, and we say so before you ask. The figures on this page are published US market benchmarks, each with its source linked. None of them is an Avantai result.

What does a lead cost?

Published US benchmarks put roofing leads in the ranges shown above. In LocaliQ's home-services search benchmarks, roofing and gutters had the highest median cost per lead of any category. Yours will depend on your zip codes, your season and whether you're eligible for pay-per-lead ads. It's also not the number to optimise for: cost per held roof-replacement estimate is, because that's the one that turns into revenue.

Whose ad account do the ads run in?

Yours. Pay-per-lead ads on Google where you're eligible, Google Search where it makes sense. The spend goes on your card and you see every dollar. Our work is managed for a flat monthly fee, separate from the ad spend.

What happens if a booked estimate isn't really a roof replacement?

It shouldn't have been booked, and it doesn't count. The definition (homeowner with every decision-maker present, residential property inside your zip codes, a replacement rather than a repair, and a plan to do the work by insurance claim or retail) is written down before we start. Anything outside it doesn't count in the weekly report. You pay a flat monthly fee, not a fee per appointment, so nobody gains from padding your calendar.

Where do you work?

Right now our US focus is residential roofers in Houston. The pilot is 60 days on a flat monthly fee, then month to month, and the details are on the Houston roofing page.
