AI sales agents for roofing: every new lead contacted in under 60 seconds
What this is
The agent texts and calls every new lead in under 60 seconds, at 2am, on a Sunday or while you're mid-job, in English or Spanish, whichever the homeowner writes in. It asks the questions your best estimator would ask and books a roof-replacement estimate against your live calendar. It knows your service area, your scope and your triage rules, because we set it up with them before launch, and we review every conversation.
What it will never do is book something that doesn't match the definition. That line is written into the agreement before we start.
Right now we run this for residential roofers in Houston, together with ads in your own ad account. See the Houston roofing pilot.
What the agent asks
- Do you own the home, and will everyone who decides be there? Renters and absent spouses are where estimates go to die.
- What's the address? Inside your zip codes or politely out.
- Replacement or repair? Repairs go where you tell us to send them, not onto the replacement calendar.
- Insurance claim or paying retail? Your estimator walks in knowing which conversation he's having.
- When do you want the work done? Inside the window you set, or into follow-up.
The answers go into the booking note. The full checklist, and how to ask without losing the homeowner: How to qualify roofing leads before the estimate. Anything the agent can't handle, like an active leak or a question about price, goes to a person on your team with the whole conversation attached.
What roofing owners tell us
-
After a storm, out-of-town crews arrive with it. They answer first, so they get there first. You've roofed this area for years and you get there Thursday. Thursday doesn't sign.
-
The phone rings while you're on a roof. The homeowner doesn't leave a voicemail. They call the next number on the list.
-
"Just checking prices" eats your estimators' week. Some of the roofs you climb belong to someone gathering quotes for an adjuster, a tenant, or a roof with years left in it. Every one is a morning and a truck roll you paid for.
-
Some homeowners write in Spanish, and nobody in the office does. Or one person does, and they're off on Saturdays.
What counts as a qualified roof-replacement estimate
Agreed in writing before we start: the homeowner books and every decision-maker will be there, the property is residential and inside your zip codes, the job is a replacement (not a repair, unless you want those too), and they plan to do the work, by insurance claim or retail, inside the window you set. Anything that doesn't match that definition doesn't get booked onto your calendar, and doesn't count in the weekly report.
What you see every week
One page you can read in a minute: leads, response time, conversations handed to your team, estimates booked, estimates held, no-show rate, and what we're changing next week and why. The number we optimize is cost per held roof-replacement estimate, not cost per lead, and not clicks.
How we start
We don't promise a number of estimates or jobs. In Houston it starts as a 60-day pilot on a flat monthly fee, then runs month to month.

Frequently asked questions
Do you have results from other roofing companies?
No roofing case yet, in the US or anywhere else, and we say so before you ask. The figures on this page are published US market benchmarks, each with its source linked. None of them is an Avantai result.
Will homeowners know they're talking to an AI?
The agent introduces itself as your virtual assistant and hands off to a human whenever the conversation needs one, such as an active leak, anything outside scope, or anyone who asks. It exists so nobody waits twenty minutes for a reply, not to pretend to be your office. We review every conversation.
Does it speak Spanish?
Yes. It answers in English or Spanish, whichever the homeowner writes in, and the booking note reaches your team in the language you work in.
What does a lead cost?
In LocaliQ's home-services search benchmarks, roofing and gutters had the highest median cost per lead of any category. At that price, a lead that waits until tomorrow for a reply is money spent twice. The number we optimise for is cost per held roof-replacement estimate, because that's the one that turns into revenue.
What happens if a booked estimate isn't really a roof replacement?
It shouldn't have been booked, and it doesn't count. The definition (homeowner with every decision-maker present, residential property inside your zip codes, a replacement rather than a repair, and a plan to do the work by insurance claim or retail) is written down before we start, and the agent screens every lead against it. Anything outside it doesn't count in the weekly report. You pay a flat monthly fee, not a fee per appointment, so nobody gains from padding your calendar.
Where do you work?
Right now our US focus is residential roofers in Houston, where the agent runs together with ads in your own ad account. The pilot is 60 days on a flat monthly fee, then month to month, and the details are on the Houston roofing page.
